The Temple Destroyed As Foretold By Christ

During the last days of his life, Jesus assembled his disciples together on the Mount of Olives overlooking the Temple Mount. The disciples opened the conversation by talking about the beauty of the Temple and it’s Courts. Jesus opened His amazing and detailed reply by predicting the soon coming destruction of the temple.

‘Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. “Do you see these things?” he asked. “I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” Matthew 24:1-2

This prophecy was fulfilled literally in A.D. 70 When the Romans under the leadership of Titus destroyed the temple. Christ’s words were fulfilled just as he said it would happen. Fullfilled prophecy validates God’s word as truth. Today, you and I can be confident that what His word promises for us is totally reliable for our lives!

The following photos were taken on the west side of the Temple Mount and these stones were pushed off of the Temple Mount crushing the street below. This street level is at the same level as it was at the time of Jesus. Please click on the pictures to enlarge.

We’re Gettin’ Closer!

How close are we to the Lord’s return? Will it happen in our lifetime? In the current world conditions and the alarming pace of these changes here is an interesting fact on Biblical prophecy. 27% of the Bible is written about future events. Of those events, 87% have been already fulfilled. That leaves 13% of Biblical prophecy yet to be fullfilled. But 98% of that yet to be fulfilled will happen during the Tribulation period. As christians, we will not be here during the Tribulation period, which means his coming according to these numbers can be at any time. It is a call for us to make sure our lives are first in line with our Lord and second being a light to a dark world! 2 Corinthians 6:2b ‘I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation’.

It Is God Who Helps Me In My Needs!

The Lord said to Gideon, ” You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength.” Judges 7:2

Confronted with imminent attack by the Midianites, the tribes of Israel turned to Gideon to take up their defense. Israel was a serious underdog in this fight as her army consisted of 32,000 soldiers as the Midianites numbered 135,000 in strength! Although the Israelites had an outside chance of victory, God wished to prove that He was the cause of the victory and that Gideon’s army did not succeed alone.

So God asked Gideon to trim down the ranks from 32,000 to 10,000. From the 10,000, God asked Gideon to screen the men and only those who “lapped the waters up with their tongues” were to be accepted. Out of 10,000 only 300 were accepted to fight in Gideon’s army. But these were the odds God wanted, because at the end of the day when Israel had won, He wanted everyone to say, ” It was God who gave us the victory over our enemies!”

I know in the these past months I have experienced situations where the odds have been stacked against me, only to find that the Lord allows those odds to grow in favor of my situation. My 32,000 soldiers turn into 10,000 then into 300! As I pray for God’s guidance and direction, the opposite of what I am praying for is unfolding in my circumstances. It seems to me that He has taken those things I have relied on, my job , my health, any wealth I may have, anything that I hold dear and has begun to make those things much less secure in my life so that I might put my full trust in him.

Just like he did with Gideons army, he will remove things from us in order to reveal his resources to us in our situations. God knows best for me in my situation – At the end of the day he wants me to say “It was God!”
